Our Inspired Brand Story
Founded by Bondi Local - Alex Nieuwenhuys in 2018, Alex's focus was to deliver a brand that represented her love of travel, style, design and paying homage to her European roots.
This Australian brand and Small Business Startup has developed an international following and has sold into over 40 countries.
rhodin. is the result of Alex's obsession with Travel and Tourism - having worked as a Sales & Marketing Director for some of the worlds largest travel brands. Some say it is an interesting combination and crossover - however with Alex's background - she wanted a collection that you can easily pack to feel beautiful and effortless during your travels.
The current product lines feature Sunglasses, Earrings and her rhodin. resort pieces with new designs dropping seasonally. Our designs promise to anchor rhodin. into the affordable luxe mindset.

The inspiration behind rhodin. comes from the era of an amazing lady named Anne.
A true lady whose style ran across the decades from the 30s...she was an entertainer, a style maven, a model,
a mother and most of all my beloved Nan.
She loved her family, holidays, afternoon cocktails and telling tales.
I miss her - this is for you Nanny Rhodin xxxx

- Lower production volumes
- Recyclable materials: Ie Acetate and recyclable or upcycled plastics
- Acetate is made in Hong Kong and focuses on cellulose/bio acetate where available.
- Plastics offered for moulding can include the use of recycled car lights and plastic water bottles.
- Only working with manufacturers who can prove certifications
- Our manufacturer is located in the PRC and has provided:
- SCOPE Certification from the IDFL ( Auditing body) which has found them to conform to the Global Recycled Standard ( GRS) Version 4.0
- They are certified until 25/9/2024
- Compostable shipping bags
- Vegan Leather Sunglass Cases
- Ethical and Balanced Workforces
- They have provided photo evidence of their sales, design and factory floors.
